Rick began his career as a financial advisor while serving an internship with the financial services firm Waddell & Reed in August of 1992. He enjoyed the experience and continued to work with Waddell & Reed following his graduation from Western Michigan University. Rick graduated in December 1992 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude. In 2002, Rick chose to partner with LPL Financial, the largest independent broker/dealer in the United States* in order to maintain independence, integrity, flexibility, and choice as he serves his clients. He has obtained Series 6, 7, 62, 63, and 24 registrations held through LPL Financial in addition to holding Life, Health, and Disability Insurance Licenses. Rick continues to learn professionally from continuing education and enjoys attending various conferences and seminars to increase his ability to advise his clients toward pursuing their financial goals. Rick has been recognized as a member of LPL's Director's Club, a distinction given to the top advisors based on their business success compared to the more than 14,000 LPL advisors registered nationwide. In 2005, Harborfront Financial Group LLC was created and has grown significantly over the years since. Rick believes the success of the group has come because of the overall objective of keeping the client first. In addition to his passion to help investors address their financial goals, Rick values his family and faith as the most important priorities in his life. Rick has been married to his wife (Amy) since 1993, and together they have three children who they are very proud of. Rick, Amy and their kids (Ryan, Jared, and Meg) enjoy the outdoors, sports, and spending time together as a family. Rick believes in living his faith through action and has served as a Deacon and Trustee at Cornerstone Baptist Church, participating in mission trips, teaching better money stewardship, and serving in a variety of other ways. Rick invites you to get to know him and the other team members at Ruba Financial Advisors.
